The Alaska Legislature is charged with enacting laws and appropriating money in our state. AADD members have a vested interest in having a seat at the table. Our member agencies provide services to thousands of Alaskans who experience disabilities and their families. We have first-hand knowledge of the many challenges faced by the approximately 12,000 Alaskans experiencing disabilities. It’s the stories of these individuals which shape the decision-making in the capital. AADD works closely with the Key Coalition to identify important legislative activities, track bill progress, and coordinate testimony on critical issues which will impact individualized community-based services.
